The site admin page can be accessed once you are logged in as a site administrator. Site Name This is used when the site automatically sends emails to users, for example when the user forgets his password. Contact Form Email, General Email and Webmaster Email These should all be generic email addresses at your domain. These can be anything like whateveryouwant@yourdomain.com and the catch all at your email will redirect them for you without your real email address ever appearing on the site. Your Time Zone This is needed to correct the users last visit that is stored to your local time. Don't include any daylight savings time as this is already calculated. Your Logo This is the an image that appears top left of all pages. For this site it the AstroChris.net rounded rectangle. The image should be less than 8p pixels high and less than 600 pixels wide. This one is 280 x 60 pixels. Header Background Image This image appears behind the logo and the quick search and is centred in the page. If it is taller than 80 pixels or wider than the page width, then it will still be centred and the edges will just not be seen. The image of the eagle nebula above is my background image. I cropped it to 80 pixels high and feathered the edges to black. That way you can't see the joins between the black background and the image. Header Background Colour This is the background colour that appears when there is either no backround header image or when that image doesn't fill the header area. I have used black because I blended the images edges to black so you cant see the joins. Main Site Text Colour This is the default text colour of the majority of the text on the site. It is the text colour that is being used here. Heading Text Colour This is the text colour for all headings. When you format text and make it a heading, this is the default colour used for the entire site. Link Hover Colour When you create text links, this is the colour that the text changes to when a user rolls the mouse over the link text. Button Bar Background Colour This is the background colour of the bar that holds the site buttons and menus. Text Colour For Text Input This is the text colour for anywhere that the user inserts text, such as the quick search input or the contact page inputs. Input Area Background Colour This is the background colour for all the text inputs, make sure it works well with the text colour above. Main Region Background Colour This is the background colour for the editable page regions. Make sure this background works well with both the main site text colour and the heading text colour. Body Background Colour This is the main background colour which appears outside the editable page regions. Some headings and main text are displayed in these regions, so make sure this background colour works well with both the main site text colour and the heading text colour. Input Border Colour The border colour around all user inputs such as the quick search input and the contact form inputs. Main Border Colour The main page regions border colour, such as the border colour around this main region. Search Row Rollover Effects These are the colours that show when a list is shown to the user, such as when he has performed a search. The list rows can have alternate background colours and alternat colours when the mouse rolls over the row. Also the text colour can change when the mouse ids rolled over. Even Row Background This is the normal background colour for the even numbered rows, i.e. the second row, fourth row, sixth row, and so on. Odd Row Background This is the normal background colour for the odd numbered rows, i.e. the first row, third row, fifth row, and so on. Odd / Even Row Text Colour The normal text colour for all rows. Even Row Mouse Over This is the background colour of even rows when the mouse is over the row. Odd Row Mouse Over This is the background colour of odd rows when the mouse is over the row. Odd / Even Row Text Colour This is the text colour of the row that the mouse is over. Common Page Searches These searches appear as buttons at the bottom of the advanced search page under 'Site Pages'. They can be anything you want, or if left out, then they won't appear at all. There are 2 columns - the first is the search phrase to search for, and the second is the name of the search - which will appear as the name of the button. If you are unsure of what the common searches do then just fill in the top row search phrase with 'home contact search' and then in the search text put 'Main Site Pages'. Click 'Update Site' and then go to the advanced search page. You will see your button appear at the bottom. If you click it you will see the search results just as if you had typed 'home contact search' in the search box. This search only works on site pages. | ||
